Church Planting

s received by the General Overseer, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, and communicatedsuccessfulchurchplants to the leaders of RCCG SA, our vision and mission statement shall remain intact with the qualifying addendum in view of the peculiarity of the demographics of the Southern African region. They are as follows:

  • To make heaven.

  • To take as many people with us.

  • To have a member of RCCG in every family of all nations.

  • To accomplish No. 1 above, holiness will be our lifestyle.

To accomplish objective no’s 2 and 3 above in Southern African Countries, RCCGSA will plant churches within ten minutes driving distance of an existing RCCG Parish in every city and town. We will pursue these objectives until every Nation in the world is reached for the Lord Jesus Christ.

To achieve these objectives, the following shall be our policy and guidelines: church planting in Southern Africa Region 2.

Church planting has been identified as the most effective way to reach new people. The Christian community will grow or decline depending on the degree of effort given to the planting of new churches. Consequently, RCCG has adopted church planting as its growth strategy. To accomplish the vision of RCCG, we must intensify evangelism at the local parish level using various means of evangelism such as:

  • One-verse evangelism

  • Special outreach programs during the holidays and at community events

  • Personal evangelism using Operation Andrew

  • Holy Ghost Services at Local, Area, State and Zonal Levels

  • Special Seminars that could be of interest to your community and where opportunities can be seized to win souls

  • The establishment of Home Fellowship Centers.

Church planting within RGGG SA will be a collaborative effort at every level i.e. local parish, zonal and central. RCCG SA at the center provides support, guidance and resources to every parish or identified church planter.

The methodology will be as follows:

  • Prayerfully identify a location, city or community fertile for church planting.

  • Set up a prayer team/group to intercede for the proposed parish. We must see the church planting effort as a spiritual activity and therefore must fast and pray for the city or location for grace and enablement to evangelize and possess the city or location for the Lord.

  • The new church could start as a home fellowship meeting in a home or in any other location good enough for the initial takeoff. It is critical to ensure that necessary things are in place and that the fellowship has reached a sizable number before starting a regular Sunday Worship Service.

  • A mature house fellowship may metamorphose into a regular Sunday Worship Center.

  • Members won to Christ at an organized crusade or seminar may be assigned a Minister to commence a Church in the neighborhood.

  • A group of brethren living in the same area of a town may be segregated from a growing church and appointed a Minister to start a church in their area.

Any chosen method of church planting under any circumstance must fulfill the 10 minutes driving distance from an existing RCCG SA parish.

Membership shall be open to all who willingly have submitted themselves to learn at the feet of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, without any hesitation / reservation to the teachings as contained in the doctrines of The Redeemed Christian Church of God and as derived from the Holy Bible.

The members of the congregation shall meet for regular religious services every Sunday. The scheduled mid-week programs such as Bible Study (Digging Deep) shall be determined by the Parish Pastor as agreed with the church elders / workers.

Further, it should be emphasized that our church (RCCG SA) is a multi-cultural church and our services must be conducted in a manner that will attract all people among whom we dwell.
