MALACHI 3 VERSE 6, JAMES 1 VERSE 17
“For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.’ Malachi 3verse 6 (KJV)
“Every good and perfect gift is form above, coming down from the Father of Heavenly Lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1 verse17 (NIV)
God is here telling us that even if times, situations and all things else change, He will not and cannot change. This is actually a three pronged and very profound statement.
(1) I AM GOD.
(2) I CHANGE NOT.
(3) THEREFORE THE SONS OF JACOB ARE PRESERVED.
So, once you are a son of Jacob, a member of Spiritual Israel, a child of God, He will do all in His power to protect you and keep you from destruction.
Let us examine these three statements.
I AM GOD
“O Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there and God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears”. 1 chronicles 17 verses 20.
When He said I am God, The Almighty is introducing Himself. He is saying there is none else beside or like Him.
In Exodus 3 vs. 6&14, He introduced Himself to Moses as the IAM THAT I AM!!! The ever present God, not I will be or I hope to be, but I AM.
Who is this I AM?
(1)He is the God of all Flesh, with whom nothing is impossible. Jeremiah 32 verse 27.
That makes Him the God of the impossible!!! He opens blind eyes and He raises the dead, He makes a way where no way existed before.
(2) He is the Alpha and the Omega, Rev 1 verse 8. He is the beginning and the ending. That means that He knows before anything happens. Not only that, He knows the ending of the matter. Therefore before that problem came which is now contending with you, He knew already and had prepared the solution, even before you knew you would ever encounter such a problem.
(3) His ways are past finding out. Isaiah 40 verse 28 says there is no searching of His understanding. There is no one we can compare Him with. He is higher than the Highest.
The Man of war, Mighty in Battle, Strong and mighty is He.
This is less than the tip of the ice berg in describing the I AM THAT I AM!!!!!!
I CHANGE NOT
Hebrews 13 verse 8 tells us He is the same God now as He was then and as He will ever be. That means if He raised the dead then, He can do the same today. If He healed then or removed poverty, He can do the same today.
If He made a way where no way existed before He can still be our way maker today.
What makes that possible?
All power belongs to him, Psalm 62 verse 11
God cannot lie, Titus 1 verse 2
It is impossible for Him to lie Hebrews 6 verse 18.
Therefore, if He said it, He will do it Psalm 33 verses 8&9
(1) He is alert and active, watching over His word to perform it. Jeremiah 1 vs 12 AMP
This means that He cannot fail you if you put your trust in Him.
(2) As He has purposed, so shall it stand. What He has said, no one can annul. When His hand is stretched out, none can turn it back, Isaiah 14 verses 24&27 (Paraphrase mine).
If God has to do the impossible to bring it to pass, He will do so. Isaiah 43 verses 18&19 say, He will make a way where no way existed before.
No matter where we are, God will locate us when His time is due for what He has promised. When the time of Gideon was due, the angel of god located him at the wine press where he was hiding from the Midianites.
So, because He is God, and He cannot change our preservation is assured.
However, we too have a part to play to experience this unchangeable God.
(1) Learn to put God First
The widow of Zarephath, in 1 Kings 17 verses 8-16, put God first. She gave the servant of God her last meal in famine. She honored God in him, and God proved Himself to her as the God who never changes, he God who speaks and keeps His word. She and her household had food throughout the famine. When death wanted to destroy her testimony, God reversed it and gave her what money could not buy.
The Great woman of Shunem, in 2 Kings 8 verses 1-16, also honored god in the man of God. She was hospitable to him and ended up building a house for him. God gave her a child when it looked as if it was too late to consider such a venture again.
Not only that, after a period of famine in the land, God remembered her good works and ensured that she got full restoration of all she had lost in the famine, 2 kings 8 verses 1-6.
Apostle Paul put God first, above his own convenience and comfort, Philippians 1 verses 19-22. Consequently, he overcame much trouble and persecution, 2 Corinthians 11 verses 23-33. For him, to die was gain and to live was Christ.
If today, we too will be planted in the house of God, and put him first in all things, we will flourish and not diminish. Psalm 92 verses 12-14. Rather God will keep meeting us at our point of need.
(2) Operate in Faith
Choose to trust God, even if it looks crazy to do so. Bartimeus, Mark 10 verses 46-52, got healed of his blindness because he chose to operate in faith. He heard Jesus was passing by and began to shout to him for help. People tried to stop him, but he refused certain that if Jesus could only hear him, he would be healed. His faith served him well.
Jesus stopped, sent for him, and declared that his faith had made him whole.
The woman with the issue of blood, Mark 5 verses 25-34, was another case of aggressive faith. She touched Jesus with a different kind of touch. A touch which drew out healing virtue from the King of Kings Himself, a touch of faith, and she was made whole instantly.
If you will only operate in faith, God will prove himself in your life, as the Unchangeable God.
Remember, Luke 1 verse 45 says, if you believe, there shall be a performance of those things which were told you from the Lord.
(3) Put yourself under Authority
In the healing of the Centurion’s servant, in Matthew 8 verses 5-13, It was responding to the voice of authority which produced the miracle. The Centurion said Jesus need not come physically, but to just speak the word as he himself understands authority.
James 4 verse 7 says, submit yourself unto God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Once you learn to submit to the authority over you, the Unchangeable God will perform exploits for you.
(4) The Favour of God
The favour of God will also single you out for help and promotion. The favour of God will deliver you from destruction. When the favour of God is upon you, special things begin to happen to you. God has promised to bless the righteous with favour, Psalm 5 verse 12.
This makes the impossible become possible. It was favour which saved Noah and his family of 8 when the flood came, and God began a new world of people with them.
It was favour which turned Esther, the slave girl into a queen Esther 2 verses 15-17.
With this same favour upon her, the king was prepared to give her anything she wanted, up to the half of his kingdom, Esther 5 verses 2-6.
(5) You must be a son of Jacob
It is the sons of Jacob whom God says will not be consumed because He does not change. That means you must forsake a life of sin, and whole-heartedly give your life to Jesus, so that you can join the Commonwealth of Israel. Then God will prove himself to you, as the Unchangeable God.
If you are not yet born again, this is the time now to confess and turn away from your sins. Jesus will forgive you and turn your life around. You then position yourself to begin a supernatural walk with God
